Complex operations are opening a new chapter in drone flight capabilities. With Canada’s updated drone regulations in effect as of November 4, 2025, pilots who want to conduct lower-risk Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) missions will now require a Level 1 Complex Operations Pilot Certificate.
